Since 2023, California Farmer Justice Collaborative has distributed over $100k in grants directly to BIPOC-owned California agriculture businesses.
The Farmer Justice Microgrant is a low-stress application providing funding relief for up to $10,000 for BIPOC farmers, farmworkers, and producers in the state of California. Our goal in providing this financial opportunity is to provide support for vulnerable producers to overcome the challenges posed by climate change so they can continue to provide essential local food production services for their communities. The funds are eligible to be used for general operating funds and/or immediate relief from emergency climate disasters.

RURAL JUSTICE SUMMIT
The Rural Justice Summit uplifts current issues facing historically underserved communities that steward the land in California, and brings together local leaders innovating solutions to those challenges.
As a result of last year’s Rural Justice Summit participation, attendance, and programming, CFJC was able to funnel over $30,000 back to California farmers of color. Over the course of two days, the Rural Justice Summit saw nearly 300 attendees participate in a community power-building event centering farmers of color. The event is designed to uplift timely issues facing historically underserved California land stewards — We are also about bringing solutions to those challenges.

Farmer Ecosystem
The Summit facilitates the sharing of diverse stories, struggles and resources from: herbalists, cooks, farmers, aggregators, distributors, specialty crop cultivators, youth, activists, disabled/differently-abled land tenders, artists, accomplices, and more.
In California and beyond, it is critical we understand the interconnectedness of our land ecosystems, and the role each of us - not just farmers and allies - plays in our ability to grow and eat nutritious foods.
